CIRCUIT 5-DAYS 4-NIGHTS - THE ROUTE OF THE 1000 KASBAHS:
Day 1: Marrakech - the Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate city - Skoura valley - Roses Valley - Dades Gorges.
Day 2: Dades Gorges -Todgha Gorges - Tinjdad - Erfoud - Merzouga.
Day 3: Exploring Merzouga a.
Day 4: Merzouga - Alnif - Tazarine -the Nqob - Zagora.
Day 5: Zagora city - Agdez - Ouarzazate - Marrakech.
At 8 a.m., depart from your hotel / riad in Marrakech and travel across the High Atlas Mountains. There will be opportunities to pause and snap photographs of the panoramic views. Continue through the Oumila Valley and along the magnificent route to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, the seat of the strong Glaoui tribe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll have your lunch here. Arrival at Ouarzazate, followed by a tour to the film studios and the Kasbah Taourirte, the house of the Pasha of Marrakech and a symbol of the Atlas lords' period. The day then proceeds to the Dades gorges through the skoura oasis and the rose valley, with a visit to the gorges. In the gorge, spend the night in a hotel or a Kasbah.
Departure in the morning for Toudra Canyon; after visiting the gorge, we go to Merzouga through Tinjdad hamlet. Stop for lunch before continuing on to Erfoud and Rissani. In the afternoon, you may go on a two-hour camel ride in the Sahara. The sunset on the backs of camels at the top of the sand dunes is breathtaking (250m) Erg Chebbi arrival at your bivouac camp / tent Berber, dinner and night with a show at the foot of the dunes in the nomad tent.
You may begin touring the region after breakfast at the hotel. You'll meet the Gnawa tribe, who were originally transported from Sudan as slaves, to learn about their music and way of life, while Lake Merzouga, with its diverse bird population, is not far away. You may also go to the Nomadic Wire House, which sells various Berber handicrafts at a lower price than in the larger towns. It's time for your camel journey in the afternoon, when you'll discover the Merzouga sand sea with the help of an expert camel guy. Dinner will be served in front of the tent where you will be sleeping (camp equipped with flash-toilet and shower).
You can see the dawn if you get up early enough, when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows create an amazing picture. The journey continues through the Draa Valley, passing via the town of Tazzarine (as shown in the film "Babel"), with stunning views of tiny atlas landscapes. In N'Qob, have lunch at a panoramic restaurant. The excursion leads us to Tanasikht in the afternoon, where we will continue along the old caravan route and explore the genuine Draa Valley, complete with massive palm trees and historic towns. We get at Zagora late in the afternoon and spend the night in a kasbah. Camel journey (1 hour / 1 hour 30 minutes) to see the sunset over the sand dunes. An amazing evening of traditional Sahara music.
We depart from your accommodation after a full breakfast and go to Agdez, where we will see the Kasbah Tamnougalte before returning to Ouarzazate through the Tizi-n-Tinfifte (1660m). When you arrive in Ouarzazate, take an unpaved road to the Fint Oasis, a hidden gem situated between the mountains. The journey back to Marrakech passes through the villages of Merzgane and Ighrem, crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka pass to arrive late in the afternoon in Marrakech.
